Please tell us about any important update - email info@riverspublishing.demon.co.uk Oct 2003 Pete Knowles · Trekking and rafting permits have been discontinued. · Entry fees to National Parks have been doubled, but due to Maoist problems you are unlikely to be challenged. · Maoist problems continue, mainly in the Far West of the country and you should consult Government webbsites for the latest advice. So far there have been no major incidents involving tourists. · Dates of the Nepal Rodeo and Peak Himalayan International Challenge have been confirmed as 22-24th Nov 2003, this year being hosted by Equator Expeditions at Sukhute Beach on the Upper Sun Kosi. Jan 2001 · Trekking and rafting permits have been discontinued. · There is a suggestion that Entry fees to National Parks will be doubled. · Maoist problems continue, mainly in the Far West of the country and you should consult Government webbsites for latest advice. · There was little effect on rafting or kayaking trips and Sept-Nov 2000 was a boom season.
